Continental outdoor variety. Large, irregular fruits with firm flesh and few seeds. Distinctive flavour. RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. (Cordon variety - one stem grown by pinching off side-shoots as they appear, needs staking and tying in.)

Tom says: We trial hundreds of new varieties every year in order to make sure only the very best varieties make it into our catalogue. The difference in flavours is incredible - from savoury cooking tomatoes to pure sweetness for snacking and every conceivable flavour combination in between, we have something for every taste bud and growing situation.

SMALL SPACES made easy! Are you feeling left behind by the "grow-your-own" revolution because you live in a gardenless apartment or have a postage-stamp-sized patio? Don't worry: Anyone with a sunny windowsill, patio, or balcony can cultivate home-grown vegetables. In fact, choosing plants that are nutritious, delicious, and attractive is the ultimate way to maximise limited space. We've tried and tested these varieties suitable for small spaces and know they'll succeed, but that's not to say there aren't other vegetable seeds that you could try!

Growing Information

Sow in a propagator on a windowsill or a greenhouse at approx. 18-21°C (65-70°F) using a quality compost. Germination 8-12 days. Cover seeds with 6mm (1?4") sieved compost. Transplant seedlings singly into 75mm (3") pots, planting out when frost risk has passed. Allow 90cm (3') between plants each way.

Water and feed regularly after first flowers have set. Removal of side shoots or trimming is not necessary unless growth is too rampant.

Sowing ➞ Cropping: 19-20 weeks.
